TREATMENT RESULTS

How we decide what to treat. And what to leave.

How we arrive at Sculptra.Or don't.

01 · Notice

What you see.

Tell us where fullness has changed and whether a lean facial shape is something you want to keep.

02 · Assess

Where it sits.

We assess volume distribution, skin quality, movement and prior filler. A hollow is not automatically an instruction to fill.

03 · Weigh

What it asks of you.

We discuss a gradual response, the possible course and the limits of reversing PLLA treatment.

04 · Decide

Treat, stage, wait or preserve.

We may treat in stages, reassess before adding more or use a more localised approach for a specific contour concern.

What to expect

A staged injection plan.

A response that develops gradually.

Before

At assessment

We assess facial volume and agree on the intended change and stopping point.

Before

Before your visit

Share previous injectable records, medications and relevant medical history.

During

Treatment day

Sculptra is placed in the agreed areas using a material-specific plan.

After

First few days

Swelling and bruising can occur. Follow the massage and aftercare instructions given for your treatment.

After

Following weeks

Initial fullness can settle before the developing response is visible. Avoid judging the outcome from the treatment-day appearance.

After

Over the following months

We review the response before deciding whether further treatment is worthwhile.

FAQ

Common questions about Sculptra.

How does Sculptra work?

Its poly-L-lactic acid particles stimulate a collagen response as the material is gradually absorbed. The intended aesthetic change develops over time.

Is it the same as hyaluronic acid filler?

No. An HA gel creates directly placed volume. Sculptra relies on a developing tissue response, so its timing, placement and revision options differ.

Why does the early fullness go down?

The initial appearance includes the injected suspension and swelling. It is not a preview of the final collagen response, which develops later.

How many vials or sessions will I need?

That depends on the areas, existing volume and intended change. We provide a proposed course and cost before treatment, with reassessment before additional sessions.

Can Sculptra be dissolved?

Hyaluronidase does not dissolve PLLA in the way it acts on HA filler. That limitation matters when choosing the material and amount.

Can it be used in lips or directly under the eyes?

These are not areas for routine Sculptra treatment. Lip and tear-trough concerns need a separate, area-specific assessment.

Do I need to massage afterwards?

Sculptra has product-specific massage guidance. Follow the instructions demonstrated by your treating clinician rather than applying the same massage routine to every injectable.

How long does the result last?

Duration varies. We discuss the available evidence and your response without promising a permanent result or a fixed interval for further treatment.

What should I share before treatment?

Share medications, allergies, medical conditions and previous procedures, including pregnancy or breastfeeding where relevant. Follow your individual preparation instructions. Do not stop prescribed medication on your own.

What risks should I understand?

Bruising, swelling and lumps can occur, including delayed nodules or inflammation. Rare vascular complications can damage skin or vision. Seek urgent assessment for unusual pain or skin discolouration, and emergency care for vision or neurological changes.

What does treatment cost?

Sculptra is $750 per vial, or two vials for $1,400. We confirm the price and what your plan includes at a complimentary consultation, before you commit.

Who will perform my treatment?

Sculptra is performed by Sonia Vilos, NP and Tina Nguyen at SkinAlchemy. Your booking confirms who treats you, and they agree the plan with you before starting.

Can it be part of a combined plan?

Sometimes different concerns need different tools. The reason for each treatment and the order should be clear. Pairing does not automatically mean the same appointment.
